Welcome to Canaan Children's Development Initiative

CACDI, as it's known, is a not-for-profit organisation, which supports some of Uganda’s most marginalised and vulnerable children.

Based in Luweero district, CACDI provides shelter, safety and schooling to children who have been orphaned, abandoned, or come from families devastated by HIV/AIDS and domestic violence.

Who we are

The charity was set up by Lilian Nayiga and husband Ronnie after discovering an abandoned and emaciated toddler on the streets.

Ronnie had once been desperate, homeless and a teenage soldier. Hearing how Ronnie turned his life around, Lilian was touched by the kindness of strangers.

Together, their journey began, coming to the rescue of other destitute youngsters and transforming their lives.

Vision

A Uganda where no child walks alone

Mission

To protect, nurture and educate Uganda’s most vulnerable youngsters
